How Jared Found His Passion for Dog Training

In 2018, Jared took a leap of faith and convinced a dog trainer friend to let him intern for the summer. Inspired by his friend's enthusiasm and pride in their work, Jared realized that this was the industry where he could truly excel. After three months of dedicated learning, he gained the skills necessary to train a dog on his own. That dog was Leo, a spirited pitbull/jack russell terrier mix. Working with Leo for a month and witnessing his transformation ignited Jared's confidence and passion for dog training. After gaining experience as an independent contractor, he founded Considerate K9 in 2019, allowing him to train dogs in a way that aligns with his philosophy and the unique needs of each owner.

Why Dog Training and Boarding?

I was stuck working a job I didn't like, without opportunity for growth, and no control over the things that mattered to me. I always loved dogs, and the thought of working with them and owning my own business was very appealing to me. I became hooked on seeing dogs' behaviors improve, as well as their owners!

How Have You Learned and Honed Your Craft?

Everything that I have learned has been through studying other successful trainers that share the same philosophy as me. I have extensively studied trainers such as Robert Cabral, Ed Frawley of Leerburg Academy, and Sean O'Shea from The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation. I spent countless hours taking their online courses and watched hundreds of hours of their free video content. With almost 5 years of professional dog training under my belt, I have seen and experienced all sorts of challenging behaviors and have been able to hone my skills and confidence with each new dog I take on.

What is the future vision of the business?

It is my goal to become a full service dog obedience and boarding facility in the greater Nashville area. I want to create lifetime connections with my clients and their dogs by offering ongoing services such as continued education and boarding services.
